Marine Gangway
A Marine gangway is a narrow platform or walkway that allows safe access to ships, trucks, or trains, facilitating the passage of people and cargo.
Manufacturers typically build marine gangways long enough to prevent slipping and ensure stability. They commonly use corrosion-resistant aluminum and describe the gangways as “tower,” “truss,” or “telescoping” based on their specific use and design.
Marine gangways ensure safe boarding and disembarking for crew and passengers, as well as efficient cargo loading. Designed to compensate for movement between the ship and dock, they maintain safety even in extreme weather conditions, making them essential for maritime operations.
Prosertek’s Marine Gangway by Suprabakti
Suprabakti provides Marine Gangway products from Prosertek to ensure safe embarkation and disembarkation for crew and passengers. Engineers created these gangways to facilitate seamless transfers between shore and ship, providing optimal and secure access even in harsh conditions.
Prosertek’s telescopic system, utilizing a link-chain structure with barboten pulleys and hydraulic activation, grants maximum safety during operation and maintenance, with unlimited operation ranges.
The free-wheel mechanism allows the gangway to adapt to the vessel’s tidal movements seamlessly, such as raising, lowering, extending, retracting, and horizontal turning.
Benefits of Prosertek’s gangway:
- Safety: Prosertek’s gangways, engineered with efficient electro-hydraulic systems, grant safe and streamlined positioning and transfer operations.
- Versatile: Based on a contrasting conceptual standard, the designs are needs-based and have optimal inclinations for the required ranges.
- Efficiency and easy to operate: The gangways are simple to use and incorporate recent technological developments. Once on the deck, it may freely follow the ship’s movements.
- Compact: It is adaptable to fit any terminal and requires little area in constrained spaces.
- Easy access: The gangway ensures safe and efficient crew movement during concurrent embarkation and disembarkation by featuring slip-resistant decking, strategically placed handrails, and expansive walkways.
- Dedicated design: Prosertek’s gangways are made to be adaptable (versatile), granting customization for specific needs while maintaining all essential functionalities.
- Durability and maintainability: Prosertek’s gangways are built to last. Rigorous testing ensures top-quality materials, while the design prioritizes quick and easy maintenance for long-lasting performance.
Prosertek Marine Gangways
Prosertek designs and manufactures two different types of gangways:
Marine Column Gangways
Marine column gangways are space-saving solutions for jetties. Unlike other gangways, they don’t adjust vertically but extend horizontally like a telescope – 3 axes of movement (rotation, extension, inclination).
This design allows for installation on small jetties and accommodates variations in ship deck heights. Operators rotate them for easy positioning and can equip them for cargo loading. Their simple design ensures easy installation, long life, and safe ship access.
Marine Tower Gangway
A telescopic gangway with multiple levels operates on a four-legged tower structure. It accommodates various ship deck levels and movements (loading/unloading, surge, sway, drifts) using four axes of movement (rotation, extension, inclination, elevation).
Hydraulic cylinders or winches power the gangway’s movements and lift stations automatically adjust without operator intervention. Stairs and platforms inside the tower structure provide access to each level.
